A Ceremony Belonging Only to Them
There were no guests, no rows of chairs and no audience waiting beyond the aisle. At the foot of the snow mountain, Lian and Wei exchanged their vows in a ceremony that belonged entirely to the two of them. We stood quietly at a distance, the only people there to witness it unfold.
The setting was composed in red and white—two long drapes moving against the mountain, surrounded by flowers in the same restrained palette. She wore a red qipao, carrying a quiet sense of tradition into the landscape.
Part of their story was photographed on black-and-white film, reducing everything to its simplest forms: the mountain, the fabric moving in the wind, two figures standing together and the silence around them. No performance and nothing to interrupt the moment—only a promise made beneath an open sky.
