So Much for Never
Zhang is an old university friend from our art-school days, back when we were all learning how to make things and pretending we knew exactly what life would look like. He used to say, with complete certainty, that marriage simply wasn’t for him. Naturally, life had other plans.
Years later, we found ourselves photographing the wedding none of us had expected. There was something wonderfully fitting about it—the artist who never planned to marry had somehow created a day full of colour, feeling and beautiful surprises. Perhaps the best stories are the ones that quietly prove us wrong.
